Aged and Community Services Australia– The national peak body representing over 1,100 church, charitable and community based organisations providing accommodation and care services to over 700,000 older people, people with a diasbility and their carers.

Carers Australia- Carers WA is a not-for-profit community based organisation and registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of the estimated 250,000 family carers living in Western Australia.

 Employment is Australia’s leading job board and online community for experienced workers over 45. We help connect age friendly employers with this able and valuable talent pool.


Alzheimer’s Association WA– The peak body in Australia providing support and advocacy for the 257,000 Australians living with dementia.

Australian Institute of Health and Welfare- Australia’s national agency for health and welfare statistics and information.

Australian Women’s Health Network- A peak organisation for women’s health in Australia. AWHN is a not-for-profit network run primarily by volunteers to maintain and advance a national voice on women’s health through advocacy and information sharing

beyond blue- The national depression initiative. Beyondblue’s main aim is to increase community awareness of depression. The website provides access to information about depression.

Department of Health and Ageing- The Department of Health and Ageing (DOHA) has a diverse set of responsibilities, which is reflected in our Vision statement: Better health and active ageing for all Australians. DOHA’s portfolios include; population health, aged care, access to medical services, primary care and much more.

Health Consumers Council-  The Health Consumers’ Council (HCC) is an independent community based organisation, representing the consumers’ voice in health policy, planning, research and service delivery.

HealthInsite- This site is sponsored by the Australian Government and provides quality information on health topics.

Heart Attack Facts- An informatative website developed by the Heart Foundation aimed at raising awareness about heart attacks and to provide information on identifying the symptoms.

Living Is For Everyone- The Commonwealth Government’s Living Is For Everyone (LIFE) website is a world class suicide and self-harm prevention resource. Dedicated to providng the best available evidence and resources to guide activities aimed at reducing the rate at which people take their own lives in Australia, the LIFE website is designed for people across the community who are involved in suicide and self-harm prevention activities.

Stay On Your Feet WA® –   Stay On Your Feet WA® aims to promote healthy active ageing in WA and raise awareness within the community that falls are preventable and not a consequence of ageing. This website includes information on how to stay independent and on your feet.

Housing and Age Friendly Environments

Housing Choices for the Over 55′s- Part of the Department of Commerce / Consumer Protection webiste which provides information on the various housing options for people over 55 years.

Independent Living Centre –  is a not for profit organisation staffed by teams of qualified and experienced health professionals who provide customers who have disabilities, mobility and accessibility problems with personalised assistance to find the best solution for their needs that will maximise their quality of life.

Retirement Accomodation- Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website

WA Retirement Complexes Residents Association- A not-for-profit organsation, formed to provide a voice for the residents of Western Australian retirement villages.

Legal Services

Advocare- Advocare is an independant advocacy agency which advocates and protects the rights and best interests of people living in aged care facilities, people receiving community care services and people not currently receiving these services but who are eligible for them.

Research on Ageing

Centre for Research on Ageing (Curtin University of Technology)- The Centre is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of older persons through a multidisciplinary research approach. Particular focus areas include; Aged Care Services, Health in Ageing and Dementia.

Western Australian Centre for Health & Ageing- A not for profit organisation that provides information on the latest health and ageing research and a range of educational resources.

Retirement Planning and Financial Services

Centrelink, Medicare, – Centrelink delivers services, programs and payments for Australian government departments. Media Access Australia has developed a manual for member organisations of the Council of the Ageing Western Australia (COTA WA) to support seniors with disabilities in participating online through the use of computers and mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.

Transport updates
